Profiting off the slight success of Ann Arbor based Binary Star, the Athletic Mic League was an Ann Arbor rap group circa 2003ish- the DJ is now somewhat famously known as Mayer Hawthorne and is signed to Stones Throw Records. How this happened, I'm not really sure because these guys sucked - and exploited all the gayisms of your typical "real hip hop head." The album was called "Sweats & Kicks" which is by definition, gay. And the beats sucked and the rhymes were lame. The group broke up.
Whoa whoa whoa.. I know these guys personally and the album sure as hell did not suck and neither did the group. Fuck off.
